About The Scholar's Choice

What Does The Scholar's Choice Do?

The Scholar's Choice is a "learning network", created to keep students engaged in learning by making it more fun, using interactive lessons and exercises that students and teachers can customize and share with others. We hope you will find Scholar's Choice resources helpful; we welcome your feedback and suggestions for new features--feel free to contact us.

Lessons and Exercises

Lessons are used to communicate concepts in a short, but powerful way; they can pinpoint a specific skill or contain a lecture or demonstration of a broad topic. View recently added lessons or create your own; the creator of the best lesson each month will win $50. Be sure to read and follow our contest rules.

Exercises are interactive activities used to build skills, much like homework, but more fun. Just pick your exercise type, answer a few questions, and you'll be set. Parents and teachers can also create prizes for students who do well on exercises--so ask a teacher or parent to create a prize, and you can compete with your friends. Not only will one of you win a treat, but you'll all be sure to ace your next quiz or test.

School and Class Pages

When you join The Scholar's Choice, you'll be asked to select the school you attend or teach at. Belonging to a school helps you connect with others who belong to your school and also provides you with school information, including a course catalog, school groups, and upcoming events. You can find your school by searching for it, or by following the school link in your profile.

Class pages provide teachers with a way to keep their students informed about important class information, including meeting times, a syllabus, announcements, assignments, hand-outs, a grading scale, a reading list, and more. Once a teacher uploads an assignment or hand-out, students who misplace important papers can access them online. Teachers can also make seating charts, take attendance, and record grades--all secure and accessible from anywhere via the Internet. If you're a student, search for and join your classes now.

Test Preparation and Private Academic Tutoring

The Scholar's Choice also provides in-person and online SAT and ACT classes and academic tutoring. Our instructors and tutors are students at or graduates of many of the nation's top colleges and universities; they have scored in the 98th percentile or better on standardized tests and possess superior grades; and they enjoy working with students.

Students in our test preparation classes increase their scores by an average of 200 SAT points or 4 ACT points. Read more or enroll here.

We also provide individualized academic tutoring both online and in-person; meet our tutors or schedule an appointment here.
