What is an Exercise ?

At The Scholar's Choice, the term "exercise" refers to any type of interactive activity that students use to learn something. Scholar's Choice exercises are:

Free!

The Scholar's Choice creates many exercises spanning different subject areas. Most exercises are available in Review Mode so students can familiarize themselves with new material and Quiz Mode so students can test their mastery over subjects they will be tested on in school.

Search through our library of exercises by subject or exercise type, or make your own! Teachers can make exercises for their students, parents for their children, and students for one another. Teachers can even assign exercises as homework, and the assigned exercises will be automatically graded.

Make an exercise covering the exact material you need to prepare for your next big quiz or test! Invite your friends to compete against you!

Teachers, students, and parents can all create prizes to make learning more fun, transforming simple online games into a real competition.

	Most students have used traditional paper flash cards, but our flash cards allow you to store up to 9 fields of information on each card, including text, pictures, audio, and video!

	Identify the parts of the image you or your students need to know--like countries on a world map or parts of the human heart.

Reading Fluency

	Paste a passage of your choice, and upload or record an audio accompaniment.
	Traditional reading software highlights 3 or 4 words at a time, but with Scholar's Choice exercises, you can specify the exact words to highlight, promoting student reading in natural "meaning groups."
	Students can control the speed.

Lists

	Lists can be either ordered or unordered. Need to be sure you can name all 20 amino acids? Use an unordered list.

	Textual identifications are great for improving your grammar or writing skills.
